In the summer of 2023 I spent several weeks in Ireland. In one of the small towns I picked up the book, Legendary Ireland, written by Eithne Massey. The book is a collection of ancient Irish legends. When I returned to Canada I immersed myself in the book.

 

At this time I was just beginning work on a new collection of songs and I began noticing that the themes from the legends were starting to 'work their way into' the songs. I decided to embrace this fact and specifically align each song with one of the legends. The result is this album.
